THE 5 STEPS OF THE FIRE DAMAGE RESTORATION PROCESS – Step 2 Assessment
Step Two: Assessment
Step 2: Assessment is the next blog to our 5 Steps of the Fire Damage Restoration Process. After a fire has damaged your belongings and/or structure it is important to restore your home or business properly and quickly to get back to living and working. Once the call has been made to a fire damage restoration company an estimator will come and access the extent of the damage to the property. Usually, the restoration estimator will work with an insurance adjuster to scope the fire, smoke and soot damage throughout the home or business. They will determine how far the fire traveled to determine how badly the walls, ceilings, floors and belongings have been affected by the fire, soot, smoke and water.
This is an essential first step to determine the extent of the damage. The adjuster and estimator will work together to provide a detailed scope of work, plan of action, approximate time it will take complete and estimate of the work.
